Community Living Sarnia-Lambton is a not-for-profit, charitable corporation, registered in Ontario. Our operating budget for 2005 2006 was in excess of $6.3 million and we provided services to over 300 families. We have approximately 210 employees (full-time and part-time) and over 100 volunteers. Other funding sources, in descending order of size, include:

Community Living's reason for existence is stated clearly in the Objects of the Corporation, starting with " ensure that persons with developmental disabilities are able to live in a state of dignity, to share in all elements of living in the community and to have the opportunity to participate effectively;". Our approach to this is to offer programmes and services that support the family of the person with the disability and, at the same time, prepare that person for independence.

We are affiliated with Community Living Ontario , a provincial federation of about 100 local Associations, such as ours, located across Ontario. We are also a member of Ontario Agencies Supporting Individuals with Special Needs (OASIS), an organization which acts as a means for its member agencies to share technical information. We are a United Way agency.
