This site was designed for accessibility because accessibility is a benefit to all users, not only those with special needs.

Thanks to Jeffrey Zeldman, Steve Krug, Jakob Nielsen and others who have helped make the web a better place for everyone.

Accessibility and Useability

We've kept the design of the site as simple as possible. We want it to inform, not to entertain, and the least clutter and fewest gimmicks make it easier for the users to find what they're looking for. Even the use of colour has been kept to a minimum.

We've left the matter of font size up to the user. We assume that users who prefer a larger font probably have their browsers already configured. We would be happy to assist in this should you need help with font size, colours etc.

The site works well with Internet Explorer (5.5 and 6.0), Netscape 6, Netscape 7.1, Konqueror 3.1.1 (Linux), Mozilla 1.5, Mozilla Firefox Preview Release 1.0, Opera 6.x and 7.x, Lynx (text-only) and even Netscape 4.x*.

The site was coded by hand in XHTML using 'cascading style sheet' (CSS1 and CSS2) support. Each page was validated as 'XHTML Strict'.

* Having said that, Netscape Navigator 4.x is generally very 'buggy' and unreliable. It supports style-sheets very badly. We recommend upgrading to NN 6.x (or the latest Netscape available) or Internet Explorer 5.5 or later. Opera 6 is fairly compliant and is smaller and faster than NN or IE. The Enigma browser, from Sutton Design is also worth a try.
